Chef Ali Açıkgül

He was born in Malatya in 1972. He spent his childhood and education life in Istanbul. He started his career as an apprentice in the kitchen with the guidance of his uncle in 1986 while he was still going to school. His interest in the kitchen forced him to constantly improve himself. Between 1993-1999, the years when he had the opportunity to work with many local and foreign valuable chefs who famous in Istanbul were the periods He came to Ankara in 2000. He created the 'Chef Ali' brand and worked as the coordinator chief of Divan hotels for many years. He left its mark on many restaurants and hotels with his delicious dishes on the menu. While the columnists were writing about him, they wrote that he raised the bar in Ankara as one of Turkey's masters of taste. Chef Ali, who served delicious meals to many important names from Turkey's leading businessmen, journalists, bureaucrats and presidents, had dreams that he still planned to realize while continuing his career in the kitchen by adding one more step to his career for years. His passion for education made him the founder of a training center, the first in Ankara and one of the best culinary schools in Turkey, by creating the Chef Akademi brand.

His purpose was to carry the profession to the highest levels by shedding light on the young people who set their heart on this profession and keeping the pulse of the food industry, which is the common language. his students practice their profession in many places of Turkey and the world.

In addition, he gives Turkish food trainings in many countries of the world with the slogan of Feel The Turkish Food.

He has 2 books named, Cheese Flavors in 2018 and Forgotten Flavors in 2021.

Chef Ali Açıkgül is still an educator at the Chef Academy, of which he is the founder, and works as a lecturer at the Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Tourism, Department of Culinary Arts. He is also a gourmet columnist for many magazines and a member of Slow Food.
